Overview

Greenview delivered structural, electrical and hydraulic engineering for a new sporting amenities building at Ador Reserve, Rockdale, commissioned by Bayside Council. The project involved the design of a purpose-built public facility at an established community reserve in Sydney's south, with Greenview working alongside BKA Architecture.

Public amenities buildings at sporting reserves may be modest in scale, but they require robust engineering suited to high public usage, outdoor exposure and long service life under a council maintenance regime.

The challenge

Council amenities buildings need to be built to last. The structural design must account for the exposed, publicly accessible nature of the facility. Hydraulic services, including changing rooms, toilets and related fixtures, need to be designed for high-use environments with durability and ease of maintenance as priorities. Electrical systems must meet the requirements of a public building while being simple to maintain for council staff.

Greenview's approach

Greenview's engineering approach for Ador Reserve prioritised functional, durable and practical outcomes suited to the public council infrastructure brief. Working with BKA Architecture within the coordinated REVIT environment, the team ensured the structural, electrical and hydraulic systems were resolved in a coordinated package that matched the design intent while meeting the practical requirements of a Bayside Council facility.
