The challenge
Upgrading the building services of an established licensed venue involves working within the constraints of an existing building that was not originally designed to current standards. Mechanical systems in clubs and hospitality venues must manage occupancy-related heat loads and ventilation requirements that are higher than those of standard commercial buildings. The scope of a major internal upgrade also typically triggers the need to bring existing services up to current NCC requirements in the affected areas.
Greenview's approach
Greenview's electrical, mechanical and hydraulic scope was developed in coordination with GROUPN Architecture, with all systems modelled within the team's coordinated REVIT environment. This Building Information Modelling (BIM) approach enabled the team to work through the interface between new and existing services early in the design process, reducing the risk of on-site surprises during construction in a live venue environment.
