Greenview provided engineering services for the Salvatore Ferragamo retail fitout at Westfield Sydney, located at the corner of Pitt Street Mall and Market Street in the Sydney CBD. The project involved a high-end luxury retail tenancy fitout within one of Australia's most prominent shopping centres, delivered in partnership with builder Newland Constructions.
As the retail engineer on the project, Greenview's scope covered three disciplines: structural, electrical and mechanical engineering. Fitout projects within major shopping centres require precise coordination with the base building services and strict adherence to centre management requirements.
The challenge
Luxury retail fitouts within major CBD shopping centres operate under significant constraints. Services modifications must integrate seamlessly with the existing base building infrastructure, and all work must meet the centre management's technical requirements without disrupting the surrounding tenancies or the centre's operational environment. For a brand of Salvatore Ferragamo's standing, the engineering outcome also needed to support the design intent of the fitout, with services concealed and resolved in a way that reflects the quality of the space.
Greenview's approach
Greenview coordinated all three disciplines within a combined REVIT environment, enabling the team to resolve structural, electrical and mechanical requirements against the existing Westfield base building documentation before any on-site work commenced. Close coordination with Newland Constructions throughout the documentation phase meant that the builder had clear, resolved drawings from the outset.
